People warned me that students who take study trips abroad during their degree never do any work and inevitably waste precious time. Indeed I was told I had done this when I returned from three months in Romania because I had only filled one sketch book. But on the contrary, the people I met and the time I spent drawing, observing and even just thinking are still making a direct impact on me and my work four years later.
